Internet Cafes: Getting Connected in Prague
The internet cafe scene in Prague has exploded
over the past year.
No longer are nearly penniless backpackers forced to phone home on expensive
cards begging for pivo funds to be wired; now these same folks, blessed
with Hotmail accounts, can pop into any number of internet cafes scattered
throughout the city and send home messages of good health and low cash
flow easily and cheaply.
The cafes offer a range of atmosphere and services for the discerning
technophile; some are in-and-out affairs--the electronic equivalent
of McDonald's--while others invite you to sit back, drink a beer or
a coffee, and chat with friends while you wait for a terminal to open
up.
